Ding dong, the builders have gone! They finished rendering and painting
the house last week, just in time for the January snow. Yes, the house looks
grand (and feels much warmer thanks to the insulation), but the best thing is
being able to slump around in my pyjamas and pee in privacy again. It’s the little
things, you know?
The front of the house has the pretty detailing but it’s the back I’m
most pleased with. This is what the back of the house looked like when we first
bought it:
I think my favourite thing is the bars on the bathroom window downstairs. Bars! |
Taken on the day we bought the house. I have no idea what I am letting myself in for. |
And this is it a couple of years later when Rob bricked in the staircase:
And this is it now. Look at it. Doesn’t it look like a lovely, normal
house at last? And it only took us five years.
Please excuse the ugly car cover – we always cover the car when we’re
expecting snow, especially since one of my wing mirrors is held on with nothing
but superglue. I really must get a new car. Anyway, here’s a picture of the house
and car covered in said snow. Isn’t January fun?
Goodbye, blue skies. See you in March. |
