89. We used to have a bedroom...

...but now we have this.

Taking multi-functional living to new extremes

Which is, in its way, pleasing to look at. But it's less pleasing when I get up for the loo in the middle of the night and have to inch my way along the bottom of the bed, crab-like, negotiating the tiny space in the dark.

What's in the pots:
Veggies: tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, chillies, turnips, swede and globe artichokes. And I'm raising sweet potato slips from some organic sweet potatoes that I brought back in my suitcase found on the market here.

Flowers: more comfrey (to use as a fertiliser), sweet peas, cosmos (two types), echinacea, verbena, sea holly and purple berkheya. And I'm trying to grow some buddlejas from seed as I haven't seen them in the nurseries here, but I know less about shrubs than I do about flowers so I'm not holding my breath on those.

After a warm start to March, it's like the fucking Arctic now. But it should be warm enough to plant most of the veg out in April and move the rest of the seedlings to the polytunnel. And then I can have my bedroom back. Until then I'll continue my nightly crab movements. Curse my Small Bladder Syndrome. And curse the cats. If they weren't so evil we'd be able to use the windowsills downstairs.
